BRANDING
THE 2014 WORLD JUNIOR TRACK
CHAMPIONSHIPS
HAYWARD FIELD - EUGENE, OR
Studio Project - Fall 201 3
The task of this project was to brand an event where 175 nations came together. The team initially realized that food was a theme that all cultures could relate to; therefore, a series of pods serving as food stands were chosen as the layout for the pavilion. Within the food pods are recycling pods, where the visitors can not only sort their recyclables and compost, but also learn about the importance of recycling. This concept is very important to the city of Eugene and brings the sense of place to the forefront.

Fine details were also thought out. For example, the benches of the eating tables are made of recycled wood with yellow lines to designate seating. Using recycled wood stays true to the place, Eugene Oregon and the yellow lines make a connection to the bleachers at Hayward Field, where the event takes place.
