MADE FROM RECYCLED SPOONS

THE EFFLORESCENT POMEGRANATE

EUGENE, OREGON

Environmental Control System Project - Spring 2013

This luminaire was designed for a self-serve yogurt business, Yogurt Extreme. A series of daylight and artificial light analyses were conducted with the intention of designing a luminaire to help the business reach an efficient lighting.

The analyses indicated that Yogurt Extreme is currently adequately lit. Therefore, this luminaire was designed as an accessory. The organization of the spoons forms an abstract sculpture that is enhanced by a light shining behind it. When illuminated the fixture glows a fiery red tint, hence its name – the efflorescent pomegranate.
